New joinee is now an ex-employee

There are no answers to this big mystery. Though reams of epaper have been invested in publishing the well researched reasons for why people quit an organization. I dont dispute any of them and neither do i give them any thought as well. My work experience of looooong 5 years (Boss, its a long time to have spent in work-life) has made me list a couple of them here. And the list is in descending order i.e the topmost reason figures first in the list:
1. Work enviornment (I know, compensation is the most expected top reason, but nopes, i havent seen that in my work-life so far): Overall respect for all ranks within the organization go a long way in retaining people. If people feel wanted, they are not snubbed for having original ideas, there is general sense of a well-being among senior-junior, half the trick for retention is already done. In my experience, i have seen people leave because they are asked to clean papers off people's desks because they happen to be in office on a weekend, or they are asked to stop thinking and act as a typist), or they are expected to send out regular updates on every small moment of their day (yeah even if it means sending an update saying "boss i am on my haunches at the moment and cant send you the number of this guy in our team"). And host of other reasons like these. People would generally like to stay in a place where they are valued, made to feel important and ofcourse given their own space. Also give them what they righfully deserve, dont deprive them by saying "eh!! you know what we are restructuring this year, soooooo".
2. Type of Work (Again compensation is not the second important reason): As much as the self appointed "watchdogs" in organizations would like to believe that people dont work unless watched over, its the biggest misconception they have in their minds. People are there to work and they'd usually work, ofcourse there could be bad days or days when no work gets done, but the idea is to get the work completed, isnt it? People would work and more so if it interests them. If work is good, they arent going anywhere. And it doesnt have to be about making rockets at all.
3. Friends (Stop anticipating): Funny as it sounds, its very true and practical. I have seen people move around in groups. This not only gives them more influence but also a sense of belonging in a new oragnization.
4. (Un)Smart Seniors: All juniors dislike their seniors. But no matter how much they dislike their seniors, if the senior is smart, they acknoledge it as well. Nobody wants a credit stealing, responsibility shrugging, short-sighted and overall scheming senior. A strict, no-nonsense, hard taskmaster is disliked but respected.
5. Its all about money, Honey!: Well, okay money does matter. I aint working for free and neither is anyone else out there. Money does matter.

These are my top five reasons. Difference of opinion is welcome. I always believe in "To each his/her own".

You must be wondering why a blog on this topic right in the morning. Well everything has a reason. Today i got to know that a "new joinee" is now an ex-employee alraedy. Ha Ha Ha, i found it very funny and then as usual i started analysing what would have prompted him to do this so soon. Anyway............its credited to you if you'd read someday :)

blessings in disguise.....

may the smart one win n get rewarded!
